Whitetail Deer Hunt

“Fair chase” is the name of the game at Sawgrass Plantation. Located in the heart of the Black Belt, known for huge antler growth, we take pride in the representation that we have for our trophy bucks. We have done extensive work on burning and off-season feed programs. It has been a mystery for others to figure out how we consistently harvest 140 – 160 class deer on this prime Black Belt property. Sawgrass provides the bedding area for several thousand acres that surround our property. Adjacent landowners all have 8-point or better limits only. Each year Buckmasters sponsors a big buck contest out of Meridian, Mississippi (45 minutes from Sawgrass Plantation). This is an open contest that means you shoot a trophy, take the deer to Meridian, and enter free of charge. In 2008, Sawgrass placed two deer in the top 25 for the MS-AL open division. In 2007 one of our adjoining landowners placed 1st with a 23 pt typical and scored over 190 points.

Dove Hunt

Wild dove are attracted to Sawgrass’s rolling fields and planted crops. The hardwood and cedar areas provide easy visibility and the terrain is managed to provide the perfect cover. You are bound to shoot your limit on your next hunt at Sawgrass.

Duck Hunt

Located on the edge of the flyway, our lakes and ponds provide the perfect feeding and bedding areas, made easy for these wild ducks to find. We hunt a 15–acre pond that naturally grows seed that attracts all kinds of ducks. We also hunt flooded timber in a 62-acre lake that has Japanese millet planted around parts of the bank.

Hog Hunt

Wild hogs are attracted to Sawgrass’s range of timber, ravines, and crops planted. The hardwood and cedar areas provide easy visibility. You are bound to see your dream hog on your next hunt at Sawgrass.
